The front nine explodes with breathtaking oceanfront holes. Expect dramatic shots over coastline and inlets right from the start. While some inland holes follow, the links feel persists with undulating terrain and strategic bunkering. Highlights include stunning par-3s over the water.
500 metres | Par 5
1st hole "Dunluce"
A dog leg to the right with the green on the coast visible from the tee.
Unless its down-wind avoid taking on the right hand bunker too much, everything will feed right once it lands. The same is a smart play for your second shot too.
280 metres | Par 4
2nd Hole "Outcrop"
A risk and reward short four that hugs the coast.
The fairway bunker is reachable off the tee and makes for a very difficult approach if you find it. The prudent play is a long iron/fairway wood as right as you can play to allow an approach into this bowl like green.
425 metres | Par 5
3rd Hole "Old Track"
The first long four which will be tough to reach against a southerly.
The more you chew off the “shorter” your second shot becomes. That may still be a very long way if the prevailing winds are blowing! It takes two very well struck shots to find this green.
131 metres | Par 3
4th Hole "Disphyma"
This spectacular par three is the signature hole of Ocean
Enjoy the scenery as our signature holes beauty belies its danger! Use the prevailing winds to your advantage to find this very small putting surface. A par is a very good result here!
541 metres | Par 5
5th Hole "Copperhead"
The first “inland hole” with help from the prevailing winds.
Middle to right is a safe line to play off the tee here. The second shot is tough as the landing area is not seen from where you stand aim it at the left hand side of the fairway to allow it to feed into the catchment area. A straight forward pitch is the reward.
377 metres | Par 4
6th Hole "Johnson’s Rock"
From the tee watch the waves break over the rock – a favourite King Island cray hideout.
The fairway ends at the two bunkers you see on the tee
bed. The safe play is well to the left of the left bunker to the large feed area that is there – trust me it’s there!
359 metres | Par 4
7th Hole "Davric"
Flanked on either side by large sand dunes the golfer will feel this hole has been framed by nature.
A very forgiving fairway, as long as you keep it inside the
rough lines it generally centres up well.
178 metres | Par 3
8th Hole "Be Up!"
An entirely natural hole played over a deep valley.
Don’t be short! The putting surface slopes from front to back so don’t take too many clubs as you may well feed through the back of this tricky par 3.
524 metres | Par 5
